Area Activities at Lake Junaluska

Welcome Center

The Bethea Welcome Center is where you will find lodging and meal registration. The Haywood Chamber of Commerce visitor center, which provides maps and pamphlets about local activities and attractions, is located inside. Open daily 9:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. 

Golf Course

Directly across from Lake Junaluska is the 18-hole Junaluska Golf Course, which spans 5,034 yards and has a par of 68. 

Aquatic Center

The Lake Junaluska Aquatic Center is open daily from 10:00 a.m.– 8 :00 p.m. Cost: Pool: $10/person, $30/family of 4 (free for guests booked through Lake Junaluska; wristbands given at check-in). 

​Recreation Hut

Mini-golf, Shuffleboard and Corn Hole: $5/game; Boat rentals: $10/1 hr. Available at the Recreation Hut in the pool area. 

Boat Tour

Enjoy a relaxing ride around the lake on a guided trip. Leaves daily at odd hours from 1:00-7:00 p.m. from the dock behind Harrell Center. Cost: $10. Tickets can be purchased at www. lakejunaluska.com. 

Corneille Bryan Garden

Nestled within Stuart Circle, the Garden is a serene escape for nature lovers. It contains over 500 species of native plants. 

Walking Trail

Lake Junaluska features a scenic 2.3- mile walking trail that winds around the lake and conference center grounds. It features the Rose Walk, fishing areas and several resting points where visitors may stop for meditation and relaxation. 

Junaluska ​Gifts and Grounds

Junaluska Gifts and Grounds is located in Harrell Center, second floor, and offers devotional materials, gifts, snacks, ice cream , hot drinks, pontoon boat tickets and more. Hours are posted. 

Exciting Day Trips 

Lake Junaluska is located within an hour’s drive of many of Western North Carolina’s prime attractions: Biltmore Estate, whitewater rafting, a scenic railroad, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Cherokee Indian Reservation. 

Crepes and Custard

Located in the Kern Youth Center—Open daily 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Features sweet and savory crepe options along with frozen custards and salads. 

Lake Junaluska Fitness Center

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Fitness Center is located at the Kern Youth Center. Guests booked through Lake Junaluska receive complimentary access. Week-long activity passes are available for purchase at www.lakejunaluska.com.
