Based in Traverse City, Michigan, Matt and Josie Minikus have conducted ministry all over the country, sharing their testimonies and encouraging people with the hope of the Gospel. Their ministry only became possible due to God’s leading in their individual journeys.
Josie began her early musical endeavors as a pianist in her church. It was challenging for her to share her own songs with those around her. In contrast, Matt gave his life to God at the age of 19 and it wasn’t long before he was traveling with evangelist David Ascherick, using his musical gifts during the meetings to encourage people to have a relationship with Jesus as their Savior. Following Matt and Josie’s marriage, they initially set aside their musical pursuits thinking that “normal” people did not do that sort of thing after marriage. God had different plans. He gave them a distinctive call in 2010, rekindling their passion for music ministry, and prompting them to return with renewed commitment.
Their songs, inspired by the redemptive act of God “redeeming them from the pit,” serve as a platform to share moving accounts of overcoming addiction and nurturing marital restoration.
This Sabbath at 3:00 p.m. in Stuart Auditorium, Matt and Josie invite all those at camp meeting to a worship experience—one that involves shedding pretenses, embracing the vulnerability inherent in relational struggles, and experiencing God’s enduring goodness despite life’s challenges.
