The less-than-stellar weather doesn’t have to stop you from enjoying a cool, tasty treat during Camp Meeting. Located next to the Welcome Center and open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Slushy Igloo—run by Pastor Ryan Hodgins and David Gentry—is a welcoming space for all to relax and refresh. They have a wide variety of colorful, ice-cold slushies to choose from, including Blue Raspberry, Lemonade, Grape, Mango, and Piña Colada. You can even make your own rainbow after the rain (in slushy form, of course.)
Based in Charlotte, last year was their first time setting up here at Lake Junaluska. This year they were asked to offer another food option for attendees, so they’re serving up classic cookout fare like burgers, hot dogs, and chips, making it a convenient and inexpensive lunch stop during a packed camp meeting schedule.
The Slushy Igloo is open through Friday afternoon, so don’t miss the chance to stop by. You can also follow along and share your experience on Instagram: @the_slushy_igloo
