The Kindergarten class at Camp Meeting is flying high this year with the theme “Flight 316 – Destination: Heaven.”

The group of eight volunteers, led by Pr. Jose Laporte and his wife Belquis, worked hard in the weeks and days leading up to Camp Meeting to prepare materials and activities for an engaging and enjoyable program for the 5- and 6-year-olds attending their class.

They even transformed their assigned classroom in the Children’s Building into an airport, complete with baggage claim, arrival and departure areas, paper airplanes, and much more.

As parents brought their children to class, the volunteers warmly welcomed them while dressed as pilots and flight attendants. The children were then introduced to how they can receive their “ticket to heaven,” summarized in John 3:16: that everyone who believes in Jesus will not perish but have eternal life. This is the Bible verse all the children will memorize this week as they learn more about Jesus and His plan to take us to a better place.

In addition, the Kindergarten class encouraged the children to let Jesus be the “pilot” of their lives through songs such as “Jesus Is the Pilot,” reminding them to allow Jesus to guide their journey here on earth.

Other activities, including crafts and games, are also helping emphasize the importance of sharing the message of salvation with others who do not yet know Jesus—the Pilot—and the coming journey to heaven He invites everyone to join.

Sister Belquis shared that it has been a joy to work together with the volunteers serving in the class. She also encouraged parents to bring their children to the Kindergarten program to learn about the importance of spreading the gospel so people can be ready for their trip to heaven.
