Learning from Moses

On a hill far away stands a majestic building known as Shackford Hall. Inside sits a congregation of juniors excited to embark on the day’s adventures and explore the life of Moses. Pastor Mark Galvez, chaplain and associate pastor at Mount Pisgah Academy, is teaching these young people how to be strong in their relationship with God. Mark naturally makes each lesson new and fun.

Each talk starts with a physical application that illustrates the message for the day. The activities are diverse, ranging from team-building exercises to reflective, individual tasks, all designed to deepen the message. As the day progresses, the juniors draw parallels from the story of Moses and apply these lessons to their own lives. They discuss the challenges he faced, from his humble beginnings to his leadership in the Exodus, and how Moses learned to have a strong relationship with God.

The juniors have benefited from multiple individuals who have given of their time, such as Ross Knight, who has worked on a segment called “Indescribable Moments,” a time where creation is explored in more detail, and Jimmy Shwe, who tells missionary stories from his home country of Myanmar. Josue Sanchez has tirelessly engaged the kids with sports and afternoon activities while Vanessa inspires them through creative crafts and art. Joshua Dietrich highlights each day with video montages, and high schoolers from Pisgah fill in the gaps by leading out in music and small groups, assisting with crafts, and participating in sports activities. Not only do these students help the staff, but are positive role models for the younger kids. Evan Bujeker, the junior program director this year, schedules and oversees the operation. Through the efforts of these individuals and more, the juniors have a better understanding of God’s love for them and how they can have a strong and healthy relationship with Him.
