Ivan Blake started his Friday morning message by referencing the creation of Adam and Eve. God breathed life into the first man and woman, and the first thing they each saw was God’s face. Because they had not yet sinned, they were able to see God’s glory, but after the Fall, sin separated humanity from God.
In order to behold God’s glory, we need to have a pure heart. Blake pointed out that this can be achieved only by acknowledging the sacrifice Jesus made for us when He died on the cross. Jesus willingly suffered in order that we may one day see God face to face and be united with Him as Adamand Eve were in the beginning. Blake emphasized that nothing is more beautiful than divine sacrificial love.
In closing Blake invited attendees to seek God’s face at the cross of Jesus. By doing so, we will not only be able to see His glory but also His glory will be reflected in us.
