A Better Covenant: The Gospel Through Music

There is no better way to start a camp meeting than with beautiful music bringing glory to Jesus. “A Better Covenant” did exactly that. The group is a husband and wife Seventh-day Adventist duo spreading the gospel through music. Based in South Carolina, Andrew and Darby Schultz have shared

their musical gifts and talents throughout the North American Division, particularly within the Southern Union.

Both having earned various degrees in music, the couple started to collaborate on compositions and performances as soon as they started dating in 2016. They officially formed “A Better Covenant” with their debut album in 2018 and were married on June 9, 2019. Since then, the couple has released three albums while performing at churches, camp meetings, and evangelistic series throughout the country. They have also added television to their résumé with a special performance on 3ABN, a global media ministry that shares the three angels’ messages of Revelation 14:6-12. “A Better Covenant” is based on Hebrews 8:6-12, which identifies Jesus as providing a better covenant that enables every person to know God personally and have full access to the Savior. True to their mission, the message of Sunday evening’s mini-concert pointed the listeners to Jesus.

The duo started their mini-concert with an original song called “Rest,” based on Matthew 11:28, which says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” After praising

God for the rest only Jesus can provide, the duo concluded their portion of the service with a violin and piano duet called “Whispering Hope” and a piano and euphonium duet of “Eternal Father Strong to Save,” honoring our veterans who have given of themselves in preserving the freedoms enjoyed in this country.
