Being God’s Light

On Tuesday afternoon, Alex Rodriguez presented the second part of his series on prayer, which is titled “The Five Storms.” In this segment he focused on the story of Elijah and the three years of drought, comparing it to the story of Adam and Eve. Rodriguez began by highlighting how Elijah prayed fervently and pleaded with God for mercy, seeking a window of opportunity for the people of Israel to turn back to God. He emphasized the immense power of prayer, stating that when God’s people pray, heaven’s forces are unleashed. The significance of prayer within the church and the urgent need for intercession on behalf of others were underscored.

Rodriguez explained how Elijah, despite being the sole remaining faithful individual, served as a beacon of light. Similarly, God calls upon His followers now to be a shining light in a world facing its demise. Rodriguez concluded his presentation by reminding attendees that prayer is not merely a one-sided conversation; it is a means by which we speak to God and He speaks to us. Moreover, God has promised to bestow the Holy Spirit upon His people if they remain obedient, and He has commissioned us to pray and share the gospel with others.
