In the Beginners(and Pre-K)

According to renowned child psychologist Jean Piaget, “Play is the work of childhood.” Here at Camp Meeting, the tiniest people on campus are working hard. Patty Dmytriyev leads the Beginner class for

children aged 0-2. This week they are learning about creation and what God made on each day. Their meetings are full of activities, including playing with bubbles that represent clouds. The children use fans to blow the bubbles across the “sky” to imitate the movement of the wind. Another activity spotlights the fish created on the fourth day, and the children help little “fishies” swim in a little pool.

In the Pre-K class for 3- and 4-year-olds, Ryan Ashlock delves into the Exodus story. God’s care and provision are highlighted in this program, and the children are learning how the blood of the lamb saves God’s people. Ashlock has made this program a truly immersive experience. A wooden structure on wheels has been wrapped in fabric and decorated with underwater scenes so the children can walk between the walls of water in the Red Sea and “escape Egypt.”

Many thanks to the staff who make Camp Meeting and learning about God so much fun for our youngest generation!
