Living God’s Vision

During his 11:00 a.m. session Tuesday in Stuart Auditorium, Erhard Gallos emphasized that Christians are not called to conform to societal expectations, stating, “We are not meant to be the honeypot.” Instead, Christians are to uphold the principles of the Bible without compromise. Gallos referred to the believer’s calling in terms of going against the grain and being the “moral disinfectant of the world.”

Gallos’ discussion centered on how Christians should influence the world according to the teachings of Jesus recorded in the gospels. He referenced Jesus’ statement identifying Himself as the light of the world and encouraged listeners to follow in His footsteps and be the light. Gallos posed the question of how Christians can become moral influencers and answered by quoting Isaiah 5:20, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” Believers should challenge societal norms, speak truth and righteousness, and be countercultural, regardless of the desire to fit in.

God has a vision for Christians to impact the world, the fulfillment of which should be the focus of every believer’s daily life.
