The Fishers of Men

Retired pastor John Earnhardt delivered a compelling message Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. to the men’s ministries seminar attendees. During his talk, Earnhardt emphasized the divine calling and highlighted how God has utilized him as a fisher of men. He stated, “We have been called to be separate from the world and different from everyone we come in contact with.” This is not limited to preachers, pastors, or missionaries but extends to every individual to be a beacon of light in the world.

According to Earnhardt, God desires our involvement in His plans, as stated in Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” He outlined three simple steps to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior: prioritize God above all, embrace the gift of eternal life and the Holy Spirit, and seek the strength to follow His teachings. When embarking on these steps, we are called by God to help others discover the light we have found.

Earnhardt shared, “God wants to work miracles in my life and in your life.” Earnhardt cautioned, however, that our role is not to “clean the fish” but rather to make the catch. The Holy Spirit takes on the responsibility of transforming those who encounter Jesus. Ultimately, redemption is achieved through the sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ.
